That help typically comes in the form of a one-time regular HEAP benefit of up to $726. Early sign up is encouraged as assistance is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. To apply for the regular HEAP program benefit, visit https://myBenefits.ny.gov.
Some households may also qualify for a one-time emergency HEAP benefit if they are at risk of running out of fuel. The emergency program sign up doesn't begin until January 2, 2019. Contact the Oneida County Department of Social Services at 800 Park Ave in Utica by calling 315-798-5559.

The village of Waterville is conveniently located in southern Oneida County, 12 miles south of Utica and one mile north of the crossroads of State Route 12 and State Route 20.
Our village was settled in 1792 and was heralded as the Historic Hop Capital of the World. We are known for the notorious family of outlaws, The Loomis Gang and our Preserved Historic Triangle District is listed on the New York State Historic Preservation Register.
Waterville is a village in the very best sense of the word. We are a charming combination of pastoral beauty, historic 19th century Victorian architecture and central New York hospitality. While we strive to maintain the simple intimacy of CNY village life, we are boldly progressive with 21st century ideals infused throughout Waterville.
Our village boasts a cutting edge public library which also includes the Barton-Brown Observatory, home to the Mohawk Valley Astronomical Society. The Village Hall is a modern building whose large community room is the center of activity from Scouts to Senior Citizens. Waterville Central School's facilities are second to none including state of the art auditorium, sports turf soccer/football stadium and cutting edge sophisticated technology labs.
This web site gives relevant information about the services and people involved with our village government. We hope you enjoy exploring our site and learning more about our wonderful Waterville!
